Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 November 2025

To keep things simple: We collect what we need to run the site, process donations/sales, and protect our artists. We don’t sell your personal data. We’ll be transparent about how your info is used and how to ask us to delete or export it.

Who we are
Echo|Studios is a creative agency and platform that represents a curated roster of artists. Many artists publish under pseudonyms. We run the site, accept donations, sell works and subscriptions on behalf of the agency and our artists, and occasionally announce open submission windows.

What we collect and why

  • Contact & transactional info: name, email, billing/shipping address, payment-related metadata (last 4 of card, transaction ID). Collected to process donations, purchases, subscriptions, send receipts and tax docs. Payment card numbers are handled by our payment processors — we don’t store full card numbers.

  • Account & preferences: newsletter subscriptions, saved preferences, subscription tiers.

  • Public content: anything you post publicly (comments, messages).

  • Usage & technical data: IP address, device/browser, pages viewed, referrer, and cookies for analytics, fraud prevention, and site maintenance.

  • Communications: support requests, emails, contest or submission entries (when we announce open calls).

How we use it

  • Provide and improve the site, deliver purchased digital goods, fulfill physical orders, and process donations/payments.

  • Send transactional messages (receipts, delivery notes) and optional marketing if you opt in.

  • Prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations.

  • Share minimal info with partners (payment processors, email providers, analytics, shipping services) to perform services.

Sharing and disclosure

  • We do not sell personal information as defined under major privacy laws.

  • We share data with service providers who perform services for us (hosting, analytics, payments). They act under our instructions.

  • We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety or rights of others.

Donations, sales, and subscriptions

  • We process donations and sales either directly through our technology or via embed widgets (Patreon, Ko-fi, Stripe, PayPal, etc.). Payment processors’ terms apply; we’re not responsible for their practices.

  • Agency-received donations and sales may be held, disbursed or split according to artist agreements. Artists are responsible for their own tax reporting unless otherwise agreed. We may provide required tax documentation for transactions as required by law.

Third Parties and International Transactions

  • We work with third parties (payment processors, hosting, analytics, embeds). These providers may process data outside your country. We rely on contractual safeguards and legal mechanisms where required.

Your rights (U.S. and international)

  • If you are in the EU: you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, and restriction of processing under GDPR. You may withdraw consent where we asked for it.

  • If you are in California: you have rights under the CCPA to know, delete, and opt-out of sale (we do not sell personal data).

  • For any location: you can request to see the data we hold about your account or request deletion of your account and associated personal data. We’ll tell you what we can delete and what must remain retained (e.g., legal backups, content that is part of the public record).

  • When required (EU/UK), our lawful bases include: contract performance (deliver purchases), legitimate interest (fraud prevention, site operation), and consent (marketing, certain cookies).

  • To exercise rights, email info@echolstudios.co with “Privacy Request.”

Submissions and Confidentiality

  • We may announce specific open-submission windows. All works submitted within these windows will be treated as confidential. Do not send unsolicited work outside announced calls. Submitted materials during open calls will be processed as described in the call (we may ask for contact info and the submission itself). We do not treat unsolicited submissions as confidential unless we explicitly state otherwise.

Retention
We keep data only as long as necessary for the purposes above, to provide services, to comply with law, to resolve disputes, or as described in artist agreements. Backups or archives may retain information for longer.

Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data (encryption, access controls). No system is perfect — if a breach occurs, we will notify affected users and authorities as required.

Children
The site is not intended for children under 16 (or older where local laws require). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have such data, contact us and we will promptly remove it.

Contact and Requests
For privacy requests (access, deletion), or questions: email info@echolstudios.co or use the contact form linked here. For legal requests (subpoenas, court orders), send documents to Executive Drive, Stone Mountain, GA.
